“Festival” is a documentary film about the role music festivals play in the lives of our friends, neighbors, coworkers, and families. Against the backdrop of the third surge of music festivals in the US, we follow the stories of Jill, Travis, Austin, Kenneth, Barbara, Tracy, and Sara as they navigate a 3-day weekend that tests their relationships, surfaces their demons, and ultimately draws out the best in all of them. “Festival” aims to be the most honest and detailed look at why our generation attends these massive events, what we sacrifice, what we gain, and why it all matters. This isn’t a concert film. It neither vilifies nor glorifies the festival industry. This is a collection of stories from real individuals, a snapshot of what happens when 100,000 people descend on a festival weekend. |
