In Southern India, where the Caste system is still very much alive, Lakshmi (a cleaner at an animal shelter) and Sumanth (the owners son) plan to runaway together. But when Sumanth stalls on planning their escape and Lakshmi’s parents suggest a new-life plan, Lakshmi’s loyalty comes into question. She knows she has to betray someone. The question is just who? |
