“roots.& rigor.” is experimental film portrait broken into 3 chapters FEEDING-DIGESTION-DEFECATION and follows the artist Lorna Williams as she gathers and creates work for her upcoming 2013 solo exhibition APPOSITIONS: STILL / BIRTH / SHIT : LORNA WILLIAMS The film also explores the narrative of the Orisha known as the Ibejis and positions them as young spirits observing Williams as she gathers pieces in the forest and creates her sculptures within her work studio. Assemblage, the digestive system, and the work process are the root themes in this film and provides a rare glimpse into the art practices of Williams.
