Kate’s premature maternal responsibility to take care of her brother conflicts with her desire to live a normal teenage lifestyle when she runs away with her friends to the coast. Kate lives the life of a grown adult. She works full time, takes care of her brother, and has more responsibilities than privileges. She finally can’t take it anymore and runs off with her best friend to the coast. She finally has the freedom to experience her own life rather than taking care of others, but at a cost she may regret. |
