Inspired by actual events by real historical figures from the criminal underworld ‘When we ran London’ tells the story of a group of friends forged from the war torn streets of London, from their early days as street urchins to the enterprising young criminals who built an empire amongst the sex and swing filled streets of the West End of London and the invasion of the Mafia. Joey and Nash, along with Readsey, Tony and Jack ‘The Hat’ establish a fortified crew in the Capital, as the star studied clientele and profitable return of their casinos and nightclub catches the attention of Mafioso Boss Meyer Lansky who was out to expand his Las Vegas strangle hold on gambling, the local Vice squad and neighbouring criminal gangs the Richardson’s and the Krays. From start to finish, When we ran London is a story of trust, loyalty and family between 4 street-smart friends who didn’t mind using violence to achieve the lives that they wanted but as their criminal empire expanded, they had to deal with the problems that growing older brings, including their own differing opinions on how to run their business, starting families and seeking bloody revenge for the brutal slaying of one of their own, Jack ‘The Hat’ that brings Joey Pyle head to head with the notorious Kray twins. |
