Based on true events, Ethilikal which loosely translates into The Lost Souls, deals with post-traumatic stress disorders amongst refugees in the UK. The film follows a young couple, Nanthini and Kumaran, who have lost their only child to the brutal ethnic war in Sri Lanka and escaped to the UK as refugees. While trying to build a new life in UK, Nanthini is diagnosed with severe depression. As their struggle continues, the story takes a turn as the couple find out that Nanthini is pregnant and there begins the journey for hope… |
