I cannot believe I’ve let this movie completely pass me by. I think it is the best Kong movie I have ever watched. The CGI is phenomenal. The creatures are so different and well designed. John C. Reilly is one of the best characters in this story. I’m so glad I came across this today. I would recommend it to anyone that is a Kong lover and a Creature feature lover too. I am both as well
Does anyone else think that Tom Hiddleston was miss cast for this part? Too pretty to be a guide. Another little oddity, I was watching For All Mankind this morning, (season 4) and Toby Kebbell plays Miles Dale. Then a couple hours later I decide to watch Kong: Skull Island (thanks greyfur for the links for all 4 movies), and who is in this movie that was made 6 years ago? Toby Kebbell. Not a well known actor, but a character actor.
It was grasshopper rex.
Probably the only movie where Brie Larson as a main actress is tolerable—just barely. A unique visual style that seemed to have fell below the theater radar initially in the US domestic market (earned double internationally). A lot more fun than Peter Jackson’s Kong and a worthwhile buildup to the revamped Godzilla/Kong series.
