Paper Boy tells the story of Salim, a young Kashmiri boy who came over from Kashmir with dreams of becoming a big time journalists but ended up working handing out free papers, his life becomes even more troubled when his parents come to visit with high expectations of their big shot son. This cultural comedy drama, captures the underlying tensions of expectations not met, the drive of aspirations and the hostility of migration. Paper Boy is the debut short film for young director Mawaan Rizwan, and beautifully captures the life a Paper Seller, his isolation and his dreams. |
