An affective journey through the waters and through the stories of the riverside communities along the São Francisco River in Brazil. Five very specific approaches which form a kaleidoscope of people and cultural expressions, which aim to show that, just like the Old Nile, the African brother, and the Ganges in India, the course of the São Francisco is a cultural reality which determines the lives and the customs of more than 16 million Brazilians. Five directors with striking cinematic styles follow the course of the river from its source in the state of Minas Gerais, cutting Bahia, passing through Pernambuco, until it reaches its mouth between Alagoas and Sergipe. |
