When Everest visits a doctor for a checkup, he is directed to a pain scale chart and asked to correlate his pain at that time to a corresponding number. This triggers flashbacks that progress from least to most painful, which forces Everest to relive ten unfortunate events to lead him to discover the root of his pain. |
