“Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves” by Jim Fall and Rob Mersola is a raunchy yet sweet sex comedy chronicling an outlandish and hysterical 48 hours in the lives of seven twenty-something Los Angelenos who are great at having sex, but lousy at falling in love. The story spins at a breakneck speed around Josie, a scatter-brained hipster, and her comically drunk mess of a gay best friend and roommate Calvin, both relentlessly searching for love in all the wrong places. Weaving in and out of their lives are a ball-busting bridezilla, a hunky gypsy fortune teller, a freakishly well-endowded underaged rock and roller, a lovelorn ex-fatty, and an orally fixated but closeted stockbroker. They all get hopelessly tangled not only in the sheets, but in miscommunication and mistaken identities, until the hilarious but heart warming climax, when their lies, truths, and desires are revealed, enabling all of them to find something that just might be love. |
