The movie is a different form of musical - namely it is 16 songs set to video of wild animals and birds being fed by human rescuers. The animals are native to the southwest plains of New South Wales, Australia. Each 5-minute video tells a feel-good story in itself (for example - a blind and injured mother possum walks for days to find safety for her baby)(another example - a kangaroo with a broken tail survives and flourishes)(another - a pelican flies again). There is limited captioning to indicate each story. Each animal is respected for its ‘Dreaming’, its unique and unfathomable spirit. The music group is composed of asylum seekers, hence the music styles are eclectic, ranging from a fifties-type sound to African music. |
