On their first date at a beautiful restaurant, Margie desperately tries to pull Geoff out of his shell to establish some sort of connection in a world neither of them finds comfortable. Despite her best efforts, he manages to keep his inner-self hidden beneath a facade of awkward nervousness, but as time ticks slowly by and the evening draws to a close, Geoff suddenly finds himself unable to breathe, having spent too long trying to act normal. As it slowly becomes clear to the other diners that Geoff isn’t just unusual, but inhuman, he flees the restaurant, heading back for his natural home; the sea, with Margie in hot pursuit. |
