I liked it. I will say it wasn’t one of Eastwoods best, my opinion only of course. Don’t get me wrong I am one Eastwoods biggest fans. I just thought the ending sucked.
Oh, J.K. Simmons has been very busy with a couple more movies to be released. The Union and You Can’t Run Forever.
I thought this might be slow and boring but it was surprisingly entertaining the entire way through.
IMO this felt very much like a made for telly film. I was bored, due to the very cursory back story. I’ve loved so many other of his films, ESPECIALLY Gran Torino and The Mule that were so surprising and heartfelt. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t say don’t watch it. It’s still better than almost 99% of the big budget films being released.
Do you need to watch Juror #1 to understand this one better ?
Interesting concept, but poor delivery. Even Toni Collette who is normally spectacular in everything she does is meh in this movie. That accent was simply not necessary.
Eastwood’s quiet and heartwrenching moral dilemma of a film with outstanding actors. So glad Hoult has been given a leading role with a major director;Toni Colette, powerful acting as usual.
I could not disagree more.
This move is the perfect example of good execution and performances that was ultimately ruined by poor writing.
Unlike other films by Eastwood (of which I have seen all of his Directorial efforts) this one did not make me contemplate or reflect anything after I finished. It wasn’t even forgettable, it was an insulting waste of my time.
This movie SAYS NOTHING.
I said the actors were outstanding and the subject, a heartwrenching and quiet moral dilemma. No mention of writing.I was trying to see the positive.
Is this Clint Eastwood’s last movie?
You would have thought he was completed long ago.
Movies from good directors usually decline with age but he kept on making good movies.
Thees old movie dudes will never give up.. They will train and take longlivety cures and gene enhanced stem-cells until they are 150-180, then when the mortal coil have given up and they cant play the action heroes anymore there is still the “wired up brain in the jar” option and directing from source of “the wisdom from within” untill they are 250. By then the transplant technology are so developed that they can hook up to their own clones without any risk and it starts all over again. Mark my words!
What an astute premonition. You should express this opinion to as many people as possible. Don’t worry about the looks on their faces. I am sure everyone agrees.
Just saying… how much is too much? End if life activities should not include the stress of movie making.
There is absolutely nothing about this movie here on primewire, but I did find this and a nice cast too. “J.K. Simmons has joined the cast of Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 at Warner Bros. In the Jonathan Abrams penned movie, family man Justin Kemp, while serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma; one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict - or free - the wrong killer. Simmons will play a juror and joins the ensemble cast that counts Nicholas Hoult (Justin Kemp, juror), Toni Collette (prosecutor), Gabriel Basso (accused), Zoey Deutch (Kemp’s wife), Leslie Bibb (juror), Chris Messina (public defender) and Kiefer Sutherland’s (Kemp’s AA sponsor).”
Stupid guy whom thought he would get away with it by dumping it on the prosecutor with a cliche. I would have run if not having confessed.
Yeah I want that 2 hours of my life back. What a stupid, horrible, terrible final 10 minutes.
Exactly! Why..?? Why..??
And then to just cut to black like that? Such a cop out. I don’t think they could decide how they wanted to end the movie, so they were tried to go the ambiguous route but failed miserably.
The whole message that people can change is backed up through action, yet both of the characters who made that growth (the main character, and the one on trial) were ultimately punished in the end.
And for the main character, I think having him live with the guilt and it causing him to either relapse or punish himself in some form would’ve been a far better ending for this story.
Shit writers.
Sure, a picture of how his life, attitudes and life choices stiffens and shrink because his righteousness and how his wife have an affair with the more relaxed neighbor couple whilst he can’t connect to his child or himself.
Could absolutely have had a better more interesting and teachable ending than this debacle. They maybe got fatigue and just wanted to end fast and with some kind of twist but was to lazy to check the logic in what they actually were doing.
Like “Jaa jaaa… God enough! They whom look is sheep anyway.”
Dog shit on my shoe I say back!
