The 2nd remake of the original 1934 Death Takes A Holiday Fredrich March film about Death falling in love, this time with Claire Forlani & Pitt (who felt anyone else could’ve done better in the role). Since this is a remake, it was criticized harshly. The original is better, but there’s nothing wrong with this one. It’s 3 hours, but there was a 2 hour version that was done without the consent of director Martin Brest, so his name isn’t on that one. It’s a cut for tv & airplane viewers.
There’s another remake done before this one in 1971 that’s also considered to be much better. That has screen legend Myrna Loy & Yvette Mimieux from The Time Machine & Toys In The Attic with Dean Martin. That one was made for tv.
