There was a Serbian paramilitary group called “The Black Hand”—sounds like something out of Marvel comics, right? lol Their motto was “Unification or Death” and wanted to see all the Slavic nations joined like what happened with Germany and Italy. They were also swole over the July Crisis of 1914 when the Habsburg Empire invaded the Kingdom of Serbia. So they decided the best route to achieving their goals was to have Franz Ferdinand killed.
OK. So,it wasn’t as a result of the plan by a disgruntled & aggrieved Scotsman? OK. Just making sure.
And yes, that name sounded like something out of the Marvel comics Universe.
