It’s probably not what you think. Gervais here is not mocking. His character Derek is warmly portrayed with intensely heartfelt moments. Some may bring up tears. Plenty of funny moments too. All based on his mothers stories of working in just such a facility. Great cast of comedians, including Ricky’s friend Karl who is a fan favourite from their real life adventures together.

Well I dont know where you get that from, he writes some pretty great shit. not to mention, hes one of the highest paid touring comedians / hosting oscars for a 5th time, has a new show out thats getting a second season, and a new tour etc… Sure Im not his biggest fan but do enjoy some of it, but cant knock what the dude has done that’s for sure.
