Ash is back in Ash vs Evil Dead! 30 years after his last fight, Ash Williams unleashes the Evil in an act of carelessness, bringing Deadite mayhem into his life again. Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons - personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its "Evil" grip. |

Just finished rewatching this for the x time. Still fun!
I too was impressed. It felt well-written and Bruce’s acting is on spot. It seems they had fun making this.
As a huge fan of the original Evil Dead trilogy I was fearful this series would be a sad facsimile of it. But as soon as I saw the 1st episode I knew my fears were in vain & that I as a viewer was in capable hands.
This series is everything I wanted it to be & more. It’s much more coherent than the trilogy & is a total blast. Rami & crew really connected this w/the trilogy & still manages to bring the gore, horror, humor & cheesiness of the originals. Plus the new characters bring whole new lives & storylines that are explored. I’m kind of glad they went out on a high note & ended it after 3 seasons. Bruce Campbell felt he had done everything he wanted to do w/Ash in those 3 seasons, he stated in an interview I saw w/him. Best to go out w/a bang that is bloody, fun & a wild ride than wait for the fire to die out.
The fact they had Lee Majors play Ash’s father must have been great fun for the crew. I don’t think I would be able to control myself from making “The Six Million Dollar Man” noises every time I saw him.
This series is an underrated masterpiece. In the future, it will be rememebered as the magnum opus of Sam Raimi.
This show is so much better than people give it credit for on here.
(this is only my opinion-if anyone enjoyed this series, I’m glad for them)
Ash’s goofs and silliness was fun and original in the 3 previous films. It made those films what they are today! This series is an exaggeration of all that. I found it pretty dumb and pointless at times. I hardly connected with any of the characters and Ash truly annoyed me at times. A huge let down and disappointment (in my opinion). Ash coming back to the cabin was fun and nostalgic, but that’s pretty much it.
Not into the whole Ash VS Evil dead at all. Too ridiculous and dumb for me.
