If you’re going to make fun of someone, be it the army, the dutch, a generation or whatever, you need to know what you’re talking about. Vague generalizations are not funny. Lets make a mashup of tulips and bureaucracy and lazy kids and see if anyone finds it interesting. No? Maybe add cheese… AI would probably come up with better vomit. Watch the pilot episode if you are taking a class and want to learn how not to make a sitcom. It does get better in the next one but still terrible.
This has a bit of a MASH feeling about it poking fun at the US ARMY, but from some synopsis looks like it also tries to poke fun at The Netherlands which would be less fun..

I just watched the pilot. It’s got similar father daughter relationship echoes going on that Shifting Gears is going for which… not sure what I think about that. It’s definitely no Lilyhammer, a great series starring Steven Van Zandt. THAT was a funny show. I’ll try another episode, see how it shakes out.
I forgot to mention Catherine Tate!!! She may be the one saving grace of this show. Have to give it a few episodes and, as I wrote above, see how it shakes out.
Any programs with that great thespian Denis Leary is sure to be a hit!
This Show is terrible
Dennis’ hair is ridiculously longer than Army regulation hair length and his uniform and cap is like a bad Halloween costume. The major too. Per Army uniform regulation, only generals are allowed to alter their uniforms to custom made alterations. Not colonels and majors.
Also, bith of them are wearing their ribbons out of regulation order. You’d think they’d hire a military consultant to at least get some of the basic things rights with an army uniform.
