A little news on this new drama and who is in it. Matthew Goode, Chloe Pirrie, Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne and Kelly Macdonald are all on board Netflix’s newest series. Goode will play DCI Carl Morck. After a violent incident turns Morck’s life upside down, the emotionally scarred detective is charged with setting up cold case unit, Department Q, upon his return to work. At first, the disillusioned cop is happy to waste his days away, but his detective instincts are ultimately reawakened and his new department becomes a magnet for a crew of misfits and mavericks.
The Nordic (Denmark/Germany/Sweden) crime drama on which it’s based, was an original series complemented by several movies. So good that I had to create a playlist with them all, just to keep track!
Fingers crossed they don’t “fix what ain’t broke” as the original series and movies were excellent. The two main actors, Nikolaj Lie Kass and Fares Fares, made a great team. We shall see if there’s the same chemistry between Goode and Manvelov. Also, Byrne and Macdonald usually deliver with their performance. So, it’s up to the writers…sigh!
Release date has been set, May 29th.
Thanks for the update. Added to “Watching” to make sure I don’t miss it.
Very welcome……and it’s on my list too.
