Just noticed this is on here. For anyone that is curious, this is (for now) free to watch on viki, I watched it right after the netflix one.

This is miles better. I won’t go into details, because this isn’t the right place for it, but I wanted to drop the netflix version a lot. The simp character especially was annoying af and D&D just suck the life out of any adaption they do, just like they did with Game Of Thrones. Problem is, this is also much more in line with what you typically see in asian (Japanese, Korean, Chinese) dramas, which most western folks will be unfamiliar with. It’s cheaper produced (and looks like it) and it has tons of other issues you see in pretty much all asian dramas. Once you come to terms with that though it’s honestly amazing. 10/10 for me personally (yes, seriously), but objectively this ist at least like 8/10, while netflix was (generously) a 4/10, at best.

thx for this solid review

I was curious about this version of the story. I watched the first 2 episodes here and found the last episode on youtube.

I can’t imagine what is going on from episode 3 to 29. I’m not going to watch them. I was surprised that much of what’s going on in episode 30 was dealt with in earlier episodes of the Netflix version. I just don’t have that much patience.

it’s dry ASF.

FYI: I found a 6 hour fan edit of “Three Body”. It comes in a dubbed version as well as subbed version. I wanted to rewatch this, but not repeat all the slow emotional back story.

The edit was pretty good, especially after watching the American and Chinese full versions. If interested, google Three Body “disembiggened”.

Nice, thank you. They also have a link to watch the entire series with English dubs, if anyone is interested.

Is this one worth watching after the Netflix one?

Completely over-rated, over-dramatized, repetitive garbage, filled with more holes than Swiss Cheese. This whole story should have been a 2 1/2 hour anime’ flick. Can you even make more annoying characters? The only good thing I can say, is that there were a few cool concepts. China… is so idiosyncratic. It was more annoying, than anything. It seems like every year, I find myself less able to relate to their convoluted way of expressing themselves. It just reeks of decaying socialism, and strangely abstract moral cues. Don’t waste your time. I give it a whopping 3/5 farts… with a bit of wafting.
