I like it. Kinda has a ‘40s film noir vibes about it. Not to mention Colin’s a cutie. 😊

Piglet 3 points 1 year ago.

This is a limited series but with Colin Ferrell, I’ll watch it. He is also executive produces the series too.

Piglet 1 points 11 months ago.

if you’re a huge fan of Colin Ferrell…..read on…..The Ballad Of A Small Player, the story follows Lord Doyle, a high-stakes gambler with a troubled past who is struggling with debts. In an effort to keep a low profile, he lays low in Macau. But then, one day, he meets a kindred spirit “who might just hold the key to his salvation. Farrell is the only cast member to be announced so far. Production is slated to start on location in Asia in the summer of 2024, so we should be hearing of new cast additions very soon.

So far, really good. It’s been a while since I was excited about a TV show.

Piglet 1 points 10 months ago.

I think around episode 4 I realized something out of this world is happening. I was right and episode 6 proved me right.

Sugar has been picked up for a second season! The first season followed John’s search for a missing woman - and revealed a big twist late in the season that helps set the stage for season two. Doing my happy dance!!

Dvora 1 points 9 months ago.

This was quite predictable for me, but it was so nice to see Colin Farrell that I kept going anyway. I won’t be holding my breath for a second season, but it was a decent enough watch that I do not feel like I wasted my time with this one.

peachesmom 1 points 9 months ago*. 2/5 stars.

The whole season/series would actually be endurable if it was 3 eps. Sooo much filler nonsense. And the writing is just bad. I’ll be surprised if it’s renewed.

ICMEINU 1 points 10 months ago. 5/5 stars.

Decent series. A little slow at first but makes up for it with a unique twist about half way through the episodes! Worth a watch. 7 out of 10 stars.

AmieWarren 1 points 10 months ago. 5/5 stars.

Watching this on another site because I couldn’t find a way to make subtitles work. You’ll need them, because he speaks in a lot of different languages, so to really follow it, you have to have the subs. It reminds me of a detective show from the 60s, called Peter Gunn. I like it so far and will keep watching it.

THEDEVIANTONE 1 points 1 year ago.

this looks awesome and the soundtrack sounds good as well

AmieWarren 1 points 10 months ago. 5/5 stars.

Wasn’t this supposed to be a one-off series? The ending completely says “more to come.” Maybe a movie to wrap it up? I hate it when series end this way.

starphlo 1 points 10 months ago. 5/5 stars.

I listened to an interview of Farrel recently who was said they were playing it by ear and waiting to see how things went. They didn’t even have the entire script written in the beginning!

chugga 1 points 10 months ago.

anytime i see amy ryan in something i cant help reading her as a multiverse iteration of holly flax. it’s automatic and unshakeable. am i alone in this?

Piglet 1 points 10 months ago.

Is there Going to be Sugar Season 2 on Apple TV+? As of now, Apple TV+ has not renewed Sugar for a second season. However, fans need not worry, as the streaming platform has not canceled the series either. Apple TV+ will analyze Sugar’s viewership numbers in the next few weeks to decide on its future

Episode 6..what a twist!!!!

Researcher 0 points 11 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Granted, I’m only 15 mins into the 1st episode and I do like the neo-noir style, which is probably why I’m getting “Chinatown” (1974) vibes but, if you’re into that style, I think this one’s a winner. Hopefully, it pans out. Also, it seems made for Farrell…fits him like a worn pair of shoes!

PS. The minute I saw the granddaughter’s pics is when I got the abused runaway vibe…reminding me of Faye Dunaway in Chinatown.

Another Apple show featuring a banger first episode which rapidly turned into a snooze fest.

loveheart 2 points 10 months ago.

how far did you get, i think this is one of the better shows on right now, love the twists and modern LA music, and scenery.

GeminiSaga 1 points 10 months ago. 3/5 stars.

I got to episode 4.
The production is great, it’s just the story that’s uninteresting.

loveheart 1 points 10 months ago.

keep going with it!

Rodreko 0 points 5 months ago.

This seems a lot like the Dean Koontz “Nameless” series of stories.
