“Zoo” is based on the book by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge. The first season of the TV series basically covers the entire book, although they made changes (as usual). After that the TV show had to make up it’s own ideas, slowly getting sillier and sillier, despite James Patterson being one of the many “executive producers”.
There is a short sequel book imaginatively titled “Zoo 2” by James Patterson and Max DiLallo, but it has no relation to the on-screen version - one character who died in the TV show is still alive in the sequel book.
The first season was good
Man season 1 and 2 was hook city, I don’t know what the heck happened in season 3, and it was quite obvious that they decided half way through season 3 that the show was going to be cancelled yet they still left it with a huge open ending assuming most people would know that this was based on a series of books and finish up the story from there. Disappointing 3rd season but still definitely worth a watch.
“Jackson Oz is a young, renegade American zoologist”…renegade Zoologist..LOL
