Life After Life tells the vivid story of the alternate lives of Ursula Todd, who dies one night in 1910, only to be born and survive on the same night. She finds herself time and again, living and dying in different circumstances only to be reborn into a new, alternative iteration of life once more. Her journey spans two World Wars and an encounter with Hitler. |

Hmm. The synopsis sounds interesting but being a ‘BBC drama’ who knows? They’ve had a lot of great stuff— but are also known for some painfully slow and plodding offerings too.
IMDB is an 8.4 BUT that’s with only 16 votes so far.
Ep 1 just hit the net, time to find out.
Edit— watched the 1st ep, an interesting set up but was pretty slow thru most of it; got more interesting in the last 5-6 min. Dunno if I’ll make it thru all 4 eps. If you like to watch golf and baseball on TV, you’ll be liking this one.
Edit— stayed slow throughout but had enough oddities to keep it interesting enough to the end. Reasonably decent feel-good show.
Thomasin McKenzie from “JoJo Rabbit” and Adolf Hitler together again lol. This is sure to be significantly less comedic than Taika’s film though.
Brilliant… loved every minute of it. If you have ever had a moment of dejavu… this is for you.

The story is a mini series, done in four episodes. It centers around one female from birth to death, to death over and over along with her family. At her rebirth she retains memories, at least in dreams. It gives her a chance to make changes for herself and the ones she loves. A bit of “The Butterfly Effect” meets “Groundhog day”. But unlike those two films, she does age as does the rest of the world. The story was slow to get started, but picks up speed and becomes quite dramatic through the second episode. A bit of a shock for me, as it appears like a sedate BBC show at first. If you continue to watch, you will find drama and a bit of horror. The actors were all first rate, and did excellent in their roles. After watching the first episode one night, I watched the next three the next. It was that riveting to me.
