This is an amazing show in every aspect possible to portray the Balls and Houses history to this day. Couldn’t be more proud of the producers and grateful for a show that lifts you up and all the way around in spite of the poor igno Tv maze review score
Don’t pay attention to the TVMaze rating, iMDb rating 7.5/10.
Anything that promotes inclusiveness can only be a positive especially in the world today were everyone seems to be out for number one and does not give a shit about anyone else combine that with good energy it can heal so much, these people are creating community in a world that community is a foreign concept today, plus living healthy can only be a positive for many of these people who could have found a much darker path given many of their experiences growing up.
I was sad to see the news that they canceled this show. It was fun.
Agreed. Any type of LGBTQIA+ programming doesn’t seem to last long w/RPDR being the biggest exception.
There have been a few others. “Grace and Frankie”, “Will and Grace”, “Orange Is The New Black”. But as far as so called reality TV, RPDR and the Boulet Brothers have the market.
Cancelled for 2023
Sometimes amazing and sometimes wacko, always entertaining. Two thumbs up!
The more I see of the House of Ninja the more I feel like a Nana nap they are to repetitive thre is only so many times you can whip your hair before it gets boring for me that is House of Ninja, just because four of the girls are Asian not every performance has to be Asian inspired think outside the box.
This show is so solid now, it has come a long way since last year. Last year they had live audiences which I knew would go away due to the pandemic. The opening episode was difficult to sit through, no DJ and no crowd, minimal lighting and tech, costumes and music and performance were disjointed. They have always had trouble placing cameras to capture the whole performance experience. The last few have been amazingly better, both in terms of performances and the way the show happens around them. Each week they are amping the theatricality and props and the elaborate spoken word stories. All of that is fun but IMO not why I am there watching ballroom. It’s supposed to be about the people and what they are selling themselves and selling as a family. I assume that this probably reflects the current state of high end ballroom today and it’s become a really different thing. I have been watching this show in connection with Pose and that has been really wonderful, I love watching those old way ballroom vogue battles. Dashaun and the judges are really starting to let their hair down and interact and use language the way we all know that they do. They made all the right moves with this show and now it is just as good as Drag Race. Keep it up b*ches!! This is my guilty pleasure, break down and cave in, eat a full bag of potato chips at one sitting show. You have to balance out David Attenborough.
A real shame they chose to have the Grand final without an audience I understand why they did but watching it there is no energy, it actually was quite dull I’m sorry to say after all it was the audience who gave the Houses energy, bounce a springboard to be the best they could be, I did not see that in the Grand Finale without the audience it was just a group of people acting strange, I can see that just walking down the street, sorry but I was so disappointed near the end I didn’t even stick around to see who won.
I felt it could have and should have been so much better so much more the Houses deserved better to have their Fans and Families around them at the end, that what I thought it was about after all inclusion.
Lordy lordy, season 3 is off to a rousing start! The losing house got railed on for not being ballroom enough lol. Was shocked they couldn’t bring it. Oh well, moving on.
I was thrilled to see an actual International house & thought they brought such a great new energy to the competition. I hope they go far. I was really shocked to see Aja Lebeija who was a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race a few seasons ago. She had retired from drag but obviously not from the spotlight. I hope they do well.
