This is really gritty stuff. Reminds me of The Wire. Courtney B. Vance is an excellent actor, but it is the Brit Tosin Cole that commands the first episode. Bentley Green who plays the younger brother Joshua just grabs you emotionally with his expressive face.

I recently binge watched the entire “The Wire” series, it was terrific and well worth all the hype I heard from people over the years. Will definitely give this one a try
