Laura is sleeping in a fisherman’s hut on the coast, the reason she is there is unknown. The fishermen care for her, but they are keen for her to return home to her mother. It seems Laura, a fantasist, has chosen the fishermen’s community as an escape from her home, yet she talks about her mother, Patricia, endlessly. The film follows Laura from the seemingly idyllic world of the fishermen which, fuelled by alcohol, erupts, sending her back home to Patricia. From here, we discover how a complicated past has held both mother and daughter in an extraordinary and perhaps destructive co-dependency.
