The Architect was inspired by this epigraph from Matthew: “And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” This is the crux of the film, the idea that the Foundation of our lives is the glue for everything else. The Architect centered his life around his work and, though he built beautiful things in his time, nothing lasted. He is left with a broken relationship with a girl and the realization that “how you build your days is how you build your life.” |
