‘In the Rough’ is a story about two people’s journeys; Robbie who is a young man that is constantly in and out of trouble and; Christine, a mother figure and friend to Robbie, whose faith in him is relentlessly tested. After a near-death stunt, Robbie vows Christine to stay on the straight and narrow, but before she knows it, he’s at it again and this time he’s going to jail. Though Christine has always been Robbie’s only supporter, she struggles to maintain her hope in him. Before heading off to the big house, Robbie brings Christine a small gift that turns out to be worth more that is seems. ITR is a short story about one man’s perseverance and another woman’s faith. |
