Details:

At the wedding of Moon, a nurse that also works on her family’s farm near the Angkor Wat temples, we learn of the dramatic situation of the people living in her village, facing land grabbing and forced migration. Almost three quarter of agriculture land in Cambodia has been sold to companies that produce for export only. When elephants dance, the grass gets beaten is the first film released under the Silent Land project, which tells the stories of farmers around the globe who are fighting against the loss of their lands and decline in food security in their regions. Silent Land is a sequel to Jan van den Berg’s award winning documentary Silent Snow (2011).
