In 2004, there was one band that was synonymous with the Southeast Eugene music scene: The Rocky Road Underground. The duo, consisting of lyricist Seamus McGoy and beat-box/mariachi guitarist Smokey Dubb, came out of nowhere and climbed the local charts with such hits as “Rabbi Rap” and “(You Make Me) Kill Babies”. The band grew to become the most famous rap/folk/country duo in Central Oregon, until they inexplicably split and went their separate ways. Rumors have spread about how the band was torn apart from within, but never before has their full story been told… until now. This is the Untold Story of the Rocky Road Underground. |
