As with any body in motion, Prof. Delia Howell seems destined to stay in motion: She’s in line for her university’s top scientific medal, and her future as a rising star in theoretical physics is nearly guaranteed. But the upward trajectory of her career is jeopardized when a handsome young adjunct claims to have solved the ‘three-body problem’ and is added to the shortlist for the Newton Medal.
