In a fictional San Francisco pub, Alex, a hallucinating musician undergoing alcohol withdrawal is babysat by his best friend and sponsor, a beer-guzzling poet who subjects him to an annoyingly cryptic ‘exercise’. As the young addict’s reality collapses on itself, the walls of the mysterious tavern close in and curiously shift in appearance, a result of both his mental angst and the filmmakers getting kicked out of their first two filming locations. |
