One woman’s journey through the US States Army changed the course of history for women serving their country. Women have served admirably in the United States military services since the Revolutionary War. Nurses worked side by side with physicians from the Civil War until the present. The Army Nurse Corps was established in 1901 and it was a long time before their promotions through the ranks led to leadership positions. That is until Anna Mae V. McCabe Hays started her career in WWII, ending it as the first lady General officer in the US Army. |
