Based on the poem “The Prospector” by Edgar A. Guest, the camera follows an old-time Death Valley prospector roaming and saunter over the hills and desert in quest of the elusive gold. Sitting in front of his cabin, as night falls, the old prospector shows the effects of his advancing age. Norfman Brokenshire supplies the narrative, and Al Shayne, ‘the ambassador of song,’ sings his composition of “Take Me Back to the Mountains,” written to the theme of the song. |
