JAYLEE STANTON seems to always be down on her luck. Her love life with boyfriend WADE MARSTERS is ailing due to the haunting effects of the death of her fiancé, TREY NORTON, three years prior. Barely allowing herself to live, Jaylee thrives on job-hopping and Shim-Shin Do classes, taught by her best friend since high school, AURORA SIKES. Jaylee’s life takes an extraordinary turn when she discovers she has an extra-sensory ability that she contributes to a brain tumor; but after confronting her drunken degenerate neighbor and living to tell about it, she seeks out answers from the Catholic church. FR. GEORGE and FR. PATRICK are Roman Catholic Franciscan Brothers and the pastors of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Atlanta. Along with a few elite others, their entire lives as priests have been dedicated to finding the prophesized “chosen one,” the girl who will eventually lead millions to God despite incredible peril. On orders from the Pope they must find the “chosen one” before her adversaries do. FREDRICK MASON, the leader of an underground opposition, is hot on the “chosen one’s” trail and will stop at nothing to destroy her. DEAK PRATT, Mason’s conniving adversary, keeps close tabs on the “chosen one” with his own agenda. MALACHI enters as the “chosen one’s” guide from heaven who appears as needed to gently push her in the right direction. Angelic in nature, Malachi simply states facts unknown to her as she struggles with her new role in life. During an inconceivable meeting with the Pope’s elite group of priests, Fredrick Mason makes his move to take Jaylee out before she can accept becoming the “chosen one,” which would make her far more powerful than he. A terrific struggle ensues and among the chaos, Jaylee’s faced with demons, an ugly fiend from hell, a ghost from her past and the death of a loved one. Will Jaylee be able to deliver souls to God and stave off the apocalypse? |
