Curaçao is a beautiful island in the Caribbean Sea. But behind the beauty, lies a world of poverty, drug trafficking, teenage pregnancies, juvenile delinquents and especially unfaithful men. Raising children and having a decent life gets harder by the day. Documentary maker Lisa Boerstra follows several women of Curaçao. They celebrate when it’s carnival, but after the festivities end it’s back to everyday business. The man want the women, but they don’t want to take care of the children. The women need money to take care of the children, so they take another man. It’s an endless circle.
