Screwdriver is a political satire about the culture of bans in India, where it takes little for the government to ban anything, from alcohol to beef or to enforce a new law. A series of incidents, followed by a knee-jerk absurd law by the Indian government make life miserable for Bhag Singh and his wife Neha as they struggle to get government approval to repair their motorbike. This film is a comic but scathing commentary on India’s culture of bans, its self appointed guardians of morality and the red tape deeply entrenched in the system. |
