Esref Armagan is a Turkish painter who has been blind since birth. However his paintings are amazingly realistic, incorporating colour, and great detail. And the most fascinating ability: He uses perspectives! Even a lot of seeing people are not able to do. Prof. Kennedy from Toronto University, who has worked for 35 Years with blind people, cried as he saw this. Harvard neurologist Alvaro Pascual-Leone scanned Armagan’s brain in an MRI. He saw a little sensation: “You can say Esref sees with his fingers”. Filmmaker Savas Ceviz looked over the shoulder of the blind painter while he is working on his paintings in his studio. Esref shows his techniques and secrets of painting and drawing. |
