Based on Italo Svevo’s first novel (written in 1890), “The Belpoggio Street Murder” portrays themes and contents faithful to the original novel but developed in a contemporary time. Giorgio murders an occasional drinking fellow, a derelict who, having suddenly received an inheritance, carries with him a considerable amount of cash for no other reason than to show off. Giorgio killed for avidity, to save himself from his unhappy life. Without any premeditation he ended another man’s existence to preserve his ego for a little longer. |
