Thea is a young filmmaker in the process of making a movie based loosely on her relationship with her mother. Her heroine, like Thea herself, is gay, and struggling to get her mother to accept her sexuality. The heroine’s mother has offered to buy her daughter a new condo if she promises to break up with her girlfriend. Thea shows clips of her film to a friend, and they discuss the challenges of figuring out how to end it. Thea also spends time with her mother who is clearly not comfortable with Thea’s sexuality or career choice. Finally, Thea finishes her film and gives it to her mother. Thea then sets off in a car with large suitcases, as her mother begins watching the film. |
