Two orphaned children live alone near the big lake in the big forest. Older sister Saga makes sure the chores gets done as she has her feet on the ground and actually sees the world as it actually is. Her little brother Joel is the opposite. Joel usually has his head in the clouds as he reaches for the moon and dreams of exploring the great wide world. One evening, and spellbound by his curiosity, he finds himself lost in the dark forest as he wanders off alone. Out of nowhere he encounters an astronaut who tells the tales of his exciting space travels among the stars and galaxies, floating in weightlessness. This inspires the boy to finally fulfill his dream of reaching the moon. He decides to build a tower out of driftwood so he can do so, all while his realistic sister though tries to pull him back down to earth.
