Toru is a young man from Japan staying in Sydney on a working holiday (wahori) visa. Like many others from Japan, he’s there mainly to have fun, improve his English and meet new people, but also to try and get a better idea of what he wants to do with his life after he returns home. After spending a lot of his time just hanging out with other Japanese, he decides to break out of his routine and join a local basketball club. His decision creates some friction among his circle of friends, but in the end he finds the new experiences make it all worth it. At the same time, his new roommate Maki seems to be having troubles relating to her past work. Concerned about her, Toru tries to find out what the matter is. |
