James Rickert, also a knight of the grip, made an appointment with two beautiful young ladies, one for his friend, Gardener. The girls didn’t care much for their escorts, so gave them the slip. At the hotel that evening, Gardener discovers that he has a pair of lady’s gloves in his pocket. Miss Busybody, in the next room, with her eye glued to the keyhole, discover Gardener with the gloves. She is not long in noticing Gardener’s wife. Rickert, while writing a letter to his home, finds the blotter which had blotted the letter that Miss Busybody had written to Mrs. Gardener. Holding the blotter to the mirror, the writing told the terrible story. When Mrs. Gardener arrived and her husband’s traveling bag is searched at the suggestion of Miss Busybody, they discover a new suit for Gardener’s boy and the gloves missing. Mrs. Gardener orders Miss Busybody from the room. Hubby forgives his wife for thinking he was any other than he should’ have been. |
