Details:

How do you ruin a bowling ball? Adam Dowis can tell you. Adam is an artist working in trash-strewn New Orleans six months after Hurricane Katrina. Adam uses materials his environment provides: the best garbage there’ll ever be. What others see as useless debris, he resourcefully turns into one-of-a-kind lamps. Like New Orleans, Adam’s lamps are functional yet dangerous, beautiful but could zap you. It’s hard not to make them blow up. In a city that appreciates uniqueness and imperfections, Adam and his creations are at home. For Adam, the months following Hurricane Katrina are a golden age of junk.
