JJ, aka John Shaft Jr. (Usher), may be a cyber security expert with a degree from MIT, but to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s untimely death, he needs an education only his dad can provide. Absent throughout JJ’s youth, the legendary locked-and-loaded John Shaft (Jackson) agrees to help his progeny navigate Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. And while JJ’s own FBI analyst’s badge may clash with his dad’s trademark leather coat, there’s no denying family. Besides, Shaft’s got an agenda of his own, and a score to settle that’s professional and personal. |

I really enjoyed Shaft action and comedy.10/10
Enjoyed this, particularly the line “It’s your duty to please that booty”… cracked me up. 9/10 for me, but then I like anything Jackson does.
This is an awesome movie… I enjoyed every second of it.. had some good laughs… It’s an 8/10 for me..
Jackson is Superb and jumps back into his Shaft role perfectly, and Jessie. T. Usher is a natural. The plot is a little more outlandish than the first, and I feel the main Antagonist could have been fleshed out a little better, but all said and done the run time is well filled, I guarantee you won’t want to turn away.
damn, I’d sure like that ‘71 chevelle ss.. (gotta blacked out grill so has a screaming 454)..As for the show…had it’s moments but man!, Jr was cringe-worthy (acting/persona) altogether, kinda fun
that car looks identical to the 1970 Chevelle I owned and drove for 11 years
Nice! I had an olive green (all the rage back then) stock ‘69 with a small block 307 for about 5 years. Still motored like hell tho. Damn destroyed it …right-off….still think about it from time to time….
AWESOME soundtrack, funny as hell, and WAY better than the previous Sam L. remake. Absolutely fun and entertaining. Seeing Richard Roundtree still kicking ass is even cooler (not a spoiler, he’s in the trailer and the movie was ADVERTISED as having 3 generations of J. Shaft). Definitely going to watch it again.
It was alright. Imagine Back to the Future but blacker. But instead of going back in time to fix his mistakes he works with what he’s got now to keep his family alive. You’ll laugh at least 2 times, guarantee.
I surprisingly thought this was utterly hilarious.
The last Shaft was pretty dry; and pretty sub par overall.
So, I went into this not expecting much.
I laughed pretty much the entire time.
8/10 stars
don’t waste your time, piece of trash

R.I.P. Shaft but this was TERRIBLE 😔
Grew up with the old Shaft flix, and mostly like Jackson’s work, but gotta say, really not impressed with this one, just for some reason seemed kinda stale to me, but that’s just my opinion, others might like it.
