A visual adaptation of a classic newspaper column by legendary San Francisco writer and journalist Herb Caen, Ahh… San Francisco was a valentine to the city in 1958, and I’ve tried to represent those descriptions as best I can through a roving tour of San Francisco. The images tell the story of the column with the original words of the column read over as a narration by renowned Bay Area thespian Peter Coyote. Less of a documentary and more of a visual poem, my film conveys all the wonderful and beautiful things Mr. Caen was able to notice and describe on a summer’s day. |
