Romeo and Juliet are born at the dawn of civilization each attached to a long coil which in turn is attached to a pole. Marching through humanity’s short history in perfect synchronicity, the lover’s witness the rise and fall of empires and ideas with little concern. As they come to rest in the present, one of the dancers falls out of step. From this moment on the lovers become embattled in a struggle for control and independence. Leading us to the question at what point does individuality threaten existence itself. |
