On April 20-22, 2001, the leaders of 34 nations met in Quebec to discuss the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (FTAA). A 2 1/2 miles long, 10 feet high security wall was constructed around all of Quebec’s ‘Old City’, site of the meetings, in an attempt to silence protest. A first-person document, this film conveys what it was like to be present at the wall as thousands of people - of all ages and from all walks of life - overcame massive barrages of tear gas to make their voices heard. |
