Cody (16) and Freddy (10) live in a rundown Los Angeles home with their mother Linda (30s). Every weekend they travel to outlying towns where Linda makes them shoplift from a variety of retail stores. Cody is responsible for distracting store clerks and coming to the rescue if they are spotted. While lifting from a local jewelry store Freddy is caught by the manager and interrogated by the police. Cody feels guilty for being unable to save his brother and fears Freddy’s complete indoctrination into this life of crime. Later that day, Cody sees the police closing in on his mother at a grocery store. Will Cody come to her rescue once again?
